Yusr was built on a simple belief: the Muslim community should never have to scramble for funds in one of life's hardest moments.
Our Story
Built for the community, by the community.
Yusr, meaning ease in Arabic, was born from a gap too many families had already fallen into. When a loved one passes, a family should be focused on grief and prayer - not fundraising or bank calls. In Islam, caring for the deceased is a collective duty, and Yusr is the infrastructure that makes that duty reliable, fair, and simple.
We are not an insurance company. We hold no premiums, deny no claims, and pay no shareholders. When a member passes, Yusr collects a small, capped contribution from every enrolled family and pays the funeral home directly.
Our vision is a community large enough that no single loss weighs heavily on anyone: when a member passes, each family's share works out to little more than a dollar.
Up to $12,000 CAD paid directly to the funeral home. Yusr's 14% service fee is distributed transparently across the community.
